Kid Friendly Restaurants in the Poconos

One of our favorite spots for breakfast (like the “Messy Mike Burrito”) is the Chat and Chew Cafe in Blakeslee, PA. This family owned restaurant has been around for over 20 years, serving breakfast and lunch 7 days a week. You can usually find Mike Sr. on the grill ready to make some Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes for your little one. The food is great, the atmosphere is fun and you can get some bang for your buck while also being entertained by the funny signs on the walls and the staff’s sarcastic t-shirts!  Regulars are treated like family and if you’re here from out of town, you can expect to feel like family, too.  Try the nutella and banana pancakes!

If you have a hankering for Pizza and are in Pocono Pines, you have to stop by Dominics. Dominics is another family owned restaurant, where you can get excellent pizza and wings. Not only is the food great, but they have a fun game room/arcade for the kids! Note that they are cash only but do have a free ATM. (You can also buy beer here!)

Craving good chinese take out? China Pearl is another Blakeslee gem, where you can get good food, fast, for a reasonable price! Try the sweet and sour chicken. They also have delicious diet plates, too!  Although you can dine in, taking it to go is quick…

How about some delicious Mexican? We love LaTolteca in Wilkes Barre (and yes, they have been super nice to my child during a meltdown.) The takeout is quick and easy and during the summer they have a nice patio for dining al fresco!

My other favorite Wilkes Barre spot is just up the road, Mizu Sushi and Japanese Grill. Delicious, fresh, flavorful sushi. My favorite is the NY roll with Salmon, Apple and Mango! The staff is friendly. The hibachi is YUMMY! I have ordered take out here and we’re never disappointed.
